I shot the Tower of London on my first day back in March 2008. I’ve had the idea for a Tortoise for Some time now, based on the castle, but haven’t quite got all the components. Not that I want to make a habit of this but I’ve decided to reuse the hippo’s mouth as the neck for this piece. The tower of London will form the legs and parts of the shell and the icing on the cake will be the Royal Albert Hall as the upper shell. I shot this building as the light was failing back in January and needed to reshoot it to get more detailed shots.

I planned a route that would encompass Trellick Tower (on of my favourite local buildings), The V&A, The Natural History Museum and Buckingham Palace. I think I want to create a piece all about decorative arts and a contrasting one with Trellick Tower.
